The Garden Inspiration Series

As a floral fine artist, it's not a surprise that my inspiration is from real life flowers. My reference photos are photos I've taken myself to avoid any copyright issues, along with the general ethics and morals of art. I also prefer to take reference photos under certain conditions when it comes to lighting and angles.

With that being said, I make trips to different gardens to take my reference photos. To date, I've been to the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden, Sonoma Botanical Garden, Heather Farms, Markham Regional Arboretum, Filoli Historic Home & Gardens, Luther Burbank Home & Gardens, the McCormick Family Community Rose Garden, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden. (I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't been to the Berkeley Botanical Garden despite being a Bear myself. Go Bears 🐻)

Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be going over the different gardens I've been to.
